Protests held in cities nationwide after two deadly police shootings in two day, turn into tragedy in Dallas

Tonight, demonstrators in major U.S. cities took to the street to protest the police related shooting deaths of two black men within 2 days. Alton Sterling, 37, was shoot in Baton Rouge, La., while selling Cd’s in front of a convenience store. Philando Castille, 32 was shoot in a Minneapolis suburb after a traffic stop. Both shootings are still under investigation. However, video footage as well as witness accounts show that both shootings were unprovoked.

In New York City protesters gathered at Union Square and marched to Times Square shutting down traffic during rush hour. Several arrests were made for disorderly conduct, however, the protests remained largely peaceful.

Sadly, peaceful protests in downtown Dallas took a dramatic turn when gunmen opened fire on Dallas police officers and protesters. This is a developing story, but according to latest information 11 police officers were shot and 4 officers died.
