FROM A SITE ENTITLED, HOW MANY PEOLE HAVE BEEN KILLED BY POLICE? by Massachusetts Cop Block How many people have been killed by the police over the past few decades? It may seem shocking, but the only honest answer to this question is that no one really knows. The government is very good at tracking the number of police officers who are killed while at work. Every year, the FBI publishes its Law Enforcement Officers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA) report which includes a fairly accurate estimate of the number of police officers who were killed the previous year. UNFORTUNATELY,THE GOV IS NOT VERY GOOD AT TRACKING THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO WERE KILLED BY POLICE. I was able to find government research with some information about the number of people killed by the police for every year from 1976 up through 2011. Unfortunately, as we will see, all the estimates are afflicted by under-reporting. After reviewing the research, I found that from 1976 through 2011, police killed at least 14,012 people. Carl begins, “One year ago today, we Saw police murder Eric Garner. We saw it because it was caught on video. The whole world saw this. We saw them choke him, we heard him say, ‘I can’t breathe’ 11 times”. “The court system told us that our eyes had lied to us, that we didn’t hear what we heard, that there was no criminal activity on the part of those murdering pigs. THAT IS A SIGN OF AN ILLEGITIMATE SYSTEM”. Noche Diaz of Stop Mass Incarceration, “this should cause to indict Daniel Pantaleo. I had to be in court this morning facing charges for leading people to call out the murder by police like Daniel Pantleo. So we have sufficient cause to indict this whole God dam system is Guilty as Hell”. “We need to salute and celebrate the fact that we have seen people begin to stand up to this starting in Ferguson. In the past year nothing has changed”. “In the month of November another 62 people had their lives taken. People are beginning to say , “No More”. “It’s time to gather together a coalition of Revolutionaries.
