Naomi Krane of the Socialist Workers Party, speaking about Trump’s remarks on immigrants,, “We’ve been a part of keeping abortion safe and legal going back to the 1960’s. We need to organize as working people against what this system is doing to us. Women’s rights is a piece of that as is the fight to raise the minimum wage.” ” Why we need unity among working people, why the scapegoating of immigrants , Muslims damages us standing together and fighting for what we need”.

“Put your fists up for women’s right to abortion. ” JOIN US IN DC JANUARY 22 for the Anniversary of Roe V Wade, 410 U.S. 113, is a landmark decision by the United States Supreme Court on the issue of abortion. Decided simultaneously with a companion case, Doe v. Bolton, the Court ruled 7–2 that a right to privacy under the Due Process Clause of the 14th Amendment extended to a woman’s decision to have an abortion, but that this right must be balanced against the state’s two legitimate interests in regulating abortions: protecting women’s health and protecting the potentiality of human life. Arguing that these state interests became stronger over the course of a pregnancy, the Court resolved this balancing test by tying state regulation of abortion to the third trimester of pregnancy.

“This summer there have been 4 arson attacks against abortion clinics, none of which made the national press, said Dan Norton, a Union organizer. This attack must be fought by labor, by defenders of democratic rights, by defenders of black rights and women’s rights”. “we’ve fought all over the world even in El Salvador for a women’s right to an abortion”. “Only the woman should choose, no one else. Her and her medical provider and we defend that right to the hilt”.

I spoke with Dan Norton privately and he said, that the attack in Colorado Springs ,, “The important thing to understand is that this is part of a general offensive of reactionary terror inside of the United States against all of the oppressed”. Dan told me about a young Latino male who was shot and killed in his home by the police in Denver on Sunday. “There’s been almost nothing about this in the press”. Dan also mentioned those who were shot at at the encampment outside the 4th Precinct in Minneapolis by white supremacist.
