From the FB page,
We refuse to be derailed by promises of reform that are merely that: promises. We refuse to be intimidated by government repression or by threats from forces of open and unrepentant racism and fascism. We will respond to the urgency of the political situation by mobilizing hundreds of thousands of people to take to the streets to say these horrors must stop.

We aim to amplify the many forms of resistance against police murder and mass incarceration. More important, we aim to change the whole social landscape, to the point where a growing section of people all over take ever-increasing initiative and make it unmistakably clear that they refuse to live in a society that sanctions this outrage, and where those who do NOT feel this way are put on the defensive.

Carl Dix spoke about taking rage to the streets, which is ugly to the rulers of this country but, beautiful to those of us who want to see these racist attacks stopped”. Carl spoke, “Reconciling with these people falls into a ruling class Trap that aims to smother our rage so that it can’t find expression”. “You cannot end oppression by forgiving your oppressors”. “Let’s talk about healing. You cannot heal until you diagnose the disease and root it out, Otherwise you’re just covering up a festering sore”.

Dr Cornel West, “It’s a beautiful thing when you’re on fire for justice whether you’re a Revolutionary Communist like my brother (referring to Carl Dix), whether you’re a Revolutionary Muslim like Malcolm X, a Revolutionary Buddhist, inaudible, or a Revolutionary Christian like myself”. “Revolutionary comes in a looootta different forms but, the important thing is the overlap that focus on the dignity of those that Sly and the Family Stone called Everyday People”. Of Everyday people you hate the fact that they’re being treated unjustly. You loathe the fact that they’re being treated unfairly”.

Nicholas Heyward Sr, who lost his son to Police killing over 20 years ago over a toy gun who still has not seen any justice spoke next.

Afterward, groups broke of into different topics in order to figure out how to organize, do outreach and raise the necessary funds.
