On May 14 – the beginning of the trial of Peter Liang – Akai Gurley’s family and their supporters protested in front of Kings County Supreme Court, demanding justice for Akai Gurley and all the other victims of police brutality, addressing the issues of gentrification and mass incarceration and asking for solidarity of all communities.
