VIDEO: Support Your Local Police Rally Becomes Street Corner NYPD Community Relations Forum

#SupportYourLocalPoliceLocal community leaders and residents held a press conference in from of Bronx Civil Court this past Tuesday and invited the public to help send a clear and loud message that many New Yorkers support their local police officers.

This gathering was part of a series of rallies that have been held at Queens Borough Hall, Brooklyn Borough Hall, the 120th Precinct in Staten Island with the largest turnout expected to be on March 8, 2015 at City Hall in Manhattan.

Joseph Concannon, who is a retired 25 year veteran of the NYPD organized the series of city-wide rallies, said that, “Public safety is the cornerstone of our civilized society. The police are the thin blue line that separates civilizations from chaos.”

Some members of the community did not fully agree with Mr. Concannon’s statements and so the press conference seemed to organically evolve into a street corner NYPD community relations forum.
