Next Stop! Dick Cheney’s House! After the Actions in front of John Brennan’s House, the activists from World Can’t Wait, Witness Against Torture and Code Pink made a Stop at Dick Cheney’s house.
British Investigative Journalist, Andy Worthington, who’s been writing extensively about Guantanamo and Torure since 2006 was also part of the crowd. Police had one entrance to the neighborhood blocked off but, all the activists had to do was make the next left and we were there. Police didn’t show up until after Medea Benjamin and at least 12 other activists made their way Inside the gate and up to the front door.
It wasn’t until a few minutes had past before police showed up and told anyone who was inside the gate they would be arrested if they didn’t leave now.
The activists left the gated area and did the action of a Mock Arrest of Dick Cheney outside the gate with a bit of a comedy act of dressing the Code Pink activist in the typical white and black stripped suit then placing him behind the Mock jail bars. During the action the activist plying Dick Cheney was talking about how Much $ he made from wars.
The Police moved in and arrested 2 of the activists,, an Older woman named Eve, and Tighe from Code Pink.
Medea attempted to negotiate their release telling the Cop, “You didn’t tell us where to go”. Where do you want us to go?” “If you release the 2 activists we’ll leave”.
The Cop did not go for it, the 2 activists were arrested and booked. Tighe Barry of Code Pink and Eve Tetaz.
