A second Press Conference was held today on the steps of City Hall in cold temperatures with the Main Stream media on hand while Carl Dix from Stop Mass Incarceration and Noche Diaz from Revcom.us addressed them.
The press conference reiterated many of the points that were made at the previous one. Points about whether or not New Years eve is the time for a protest or a time for celebration. Carl Dix stressed that New Years eve is a time for “Bringing in the New and getting rid of the old Policies”, A time when people make their New Years resolutions, “what better time for a protest?”
Other speakers like Noche Diaz, who has been arrested during protest for; Inciting a riot, spoke about what black & brown youth live with every day in a system where they are not wanted, and where they have no future. He said “we’re not having another year under the same system”
