PHOTOS: Dirty Wars/Torture Report Event at IFC Theater with Jeremy Scahill, Glenn Greenwald & Pardiss Kerbiaei

The IFC Theater in NYC had a second viewing of Jeremy Scahill’s Dirty Wars and afterwards they held a discussion of the newly released Torture Report with Jermy Scahill, Glenn Greenwald and Guantanamo Lawyer from the Center for Constitutional Rights, Pardiss Kerbriaei.

The discussion centered around points made by Pardiss, that the U.S. Gov “has No intention of ever charging these men”. She said that the CCR is seeking “Investigation and Prosecution” against those responsible for the treatment towards the prisoners in Guantanamo and the family of Anwar Al Alaqi. Also mentioned, was Waiting for Fahad, The heartrending documentary “Waiting for Fahd,” tells the story of CCR client Fahd Ghazy, a Yemeni national unlawfully detained at Guantánamo since he was 17 and who is now 30. Through moving interviews with his beloved family in Yemen, “Waiting for Fahd” paints a vivid portrait of the life that awaits a man who, despite being twice cleared for release, continues to languish at Guantánamo, denied his home, his livelihood, and his loved ones because of his nationality.

Glenn Greenwald and Jeremy Scahill spoke about Diane Feinstein’s newly found position against spying once she, herself was spied on by the NSA.​
