PHOTOS: Thousands Gather In NYC To Protest Police Brutality

On Saturday, more than 25,000 people gathered in New York City’s to protest police brutality.

The march, which started in Washington Square Park and ended at Police Headquarters after leading protesters up 6th Avenue to 32nd Street, and back down Broadway, underlined the seemingly not ending national outrage over police killings.

Protesters at the rally, organized by Millions March NYC Coalition, demanded justice for the victims of police violence, and called for an end of the highly controversial NYPD’s Broken Window policy and institutionalized racism. Some protesters even called for the resignation of Bill Bratton, NYC’s current police commissioner.

Charles Barron, former NYC Councilman and future State Assemblyman, was among the protesters, walking along with families who lost family members to police violence.
