Did you know that July 24 is National Busker Day? Well don’t feel bad, because neither did we. With that being said, street performers from both above and below ground (in other words NYC’s subway platforms) will commemorate the occasion by gathering for NYC Busker Ball VII taking place on that day at Spike Hill (184-186 Bedford Avenue in Brooklyn 718-218-9737).

“This is going to be big and you definitely don’t want to miss it,” said event organizer Theo Eastwind (aka The King of NYC Buskers). “While people can watch buskers on the street for free, we’ve taken over the hip Williamsburg club Spike Hill and are asking for a suggested donation of only $10. That ten spot will land you an evening where you can enjoy cool drinks, great food, and who knows, you may even meet the love of your life!”Theo Eastwind

So, if you want support the performers you’ve seen in the subways and on the streets, that put a spring in your step on your way to work, home and play, then mark the date (July 24) on your calendars for NYC Busker Ball VII and join the party. After all, these artists are just looking for a few coins, and their performances are there to delight, not to make them rich. Doors open at 7 PM.
