World Tai Chi and Qigong Day Continues To Promote Global Health And Healing

10259063_643999052349238_6541169938882825944_oWorld Tai Chi and Qigong Day is an annual event independently organized by local Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong schools, groups, and associations on the last Saturday of April each year to promote the related disciplines of these practices around the world since 1999.

The annual April event is open to the general public, and begins in the earliest time zones of Samoa at 10 am, and then participants across the world take part in mass t’ai chi ch’uan and qigong exhibitions and celebrations in sixty nations, ending with the final events in the last time zones of Hawaii almost an entire day later.

One of the main goals of World Tai Chi and Qigong is to provide a global vision of cooperation for health & healing purposes across geopolitical boundaries, and also an appeal to people worldwide to embrace wisdom from all the cultures of the world.

During last month’s celebration I had the good fortune to conduct video interviews with participants from the Brooklyn Kung Fu & Tai Chi Academy in Park Slope Brooklyn after completing their event in Prospect Park.
