Bad Words (2014) – Movie Review

PHDXyeOqlYC3HG_2_mDirector: Jason Bateman
Writer: Andrew Dodge
Studio: Focus Features
Genre: Comedy
Rating: R
Runtime: 88 minutes

Jason Bateman does roles where you either really love him or just really wanna punch him in the face. This was one of those movies where you just want to punch him in the face for acting like such a selfish angry at the world prick throughout the whole movie towards to the little boy who just really wanted to be his friend.

You really don’t know much about Jason’s character who is named Guy Trilby (kinda a weird name but whatever) but you just really know he is a angry at the world sorta guy and in the real world his butt would be in jail very ASAP. And theres Chaitanya Chopra who was just trying to be his friend but also learning new experiences that his real father wouldn’t give him but Guy would…to a bit of a extreme way haha. Point of this movie was to win a national spelling bee to prove a point to a certain someone, and through out the movie you learn some REALLY fancy words that you never knew existed! Makes you also wonder how many takes did it take until they could actually spell the word for this movie haha.

The movie seemed very predictable and full of brown cliches which kinda get old after a while and you lose interest. Its a nice cute movie but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go see it.
