The Monuments Men (2014) – Movie Review

20140223_0848Director: George Clooney
Writer: George Clooney, Grant Heslov, Robert M. Edsel, Bret Witter
Studio: Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox
Genre: Documentary, War
Rating: PG-13 for some images of war violence and historical smoking
Runtime: 1 hour 58 minutes

I was excited to see this movie just because I am always fascinated with World War 2 movies and also its amazing all star cast! George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville I mean wow having them all together was just amazing and it felt like Oceans WW2 edition with of course George Clooney coordinating it all and Matt Damon always getting lucky (or unlucky) with the ladies.

The movie is full of funny moments, true historic moments and all around something enjoyable to watch about how this team of art lovers went around Europe to save priceless pieces of artwork that belong to private collectors who happened to be Jewish.

I was sad though when Jean Dujardin and Hugh Bonneville characters died! I loved them both and all I could think oh no Lord Grantham and the Artist or Wolf Of Wall Street guy nooo!!!

I don’t get why the critics tore this movie apart calling it horrible and bland for its all star cast. It really seemed like they enjoyed making this movie and it didn’t seemed forced their enthusiasm for acting in it. I would recommend this movie to people who are fans of those stars and World War 2 enthusiasts.
