SAACH Music Concert – A Concert Not to Remember

20130413_1600SAACH foundation in collaboration with SAACH TV, organized a charity fundraising concert for the patients of Thalassemia; the cause was noble and the event was purely on the philanthropic grounds. The event kicked off at the evening of March 27, 2013 at Avalon Marquee.

The main attraction of the night was Falak Shabir, whose fame skyrocketed with his debut song ‘Rog’. The venue was grand and the sitting arrangement could have been sufficient for a crowd of 300. Nevertheless, the turnout was not that encouraging, as hardly the hall had around 100 people.

I reached the place well in time, perhaps before time, as they were setting up the stage. The show was scheduled to start at 7pm, however it got late.

After waiting infinitely, the hosts finally showed up and they seemed lethargic and underpaid. If it was not for a philanthropic cause, I wouldn’t have been there. The list had no other enticing name but Falak, and naturally he was supposed to come at the last.

So the performances of aspiring wannabes started, and the first to come on the stage was a group of ball jugglers, only this time they were a bunch of kids trying to do some kind of wizardry with footballs, though they failed to impress but I endured.

Subsequently, there were some performances from Punjabi rappers and other not so promising singers from Lahore, and I was compelled to think why I am here. Things finally warmed up with the appearance of Junaid Sami Khan, brother of Adnan Sami Khan, he was good even though he sung Adnan’s songs.

His performance was followed by other 3 aspiring singers, and finally the main attraction of the night appeared on the stage. Falak performed a mix of new tracks, and that’s how the show concluded.

It could have been much better if the wannabes would have tried to put in some effort in performances and attire.
