Vision The Kid: Lost Summer – Music Review

Minneapolis musical virtuoso, Vision The Kid, transforms hip-hop music putting out a musical creation that stands out on its own excellence.  His lyrics are intelligent and hard hitting, ripping through verses with ease and individual style.  Old school, yet contemporary at the same time, Vision’s diverse musical influences present a clearly intended artistic direction.

Lost Summer is an unrivaled musical experience, with each track uniquely different from the next.  In ten songs, Vision exhibits superior lyrical ability and a cutting edge production. His storytelling is clear-cut and to the point, of which some might consider a rarity within the genre. Hip-hop is evolving before our ears with songs like “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang” and the album’s title track, “Lost Summer.” Vision’s vocal presence is unmistakably powerful and, frankly, hard to resist.

Hip-hop nowadays can often be anticipated and less than inspiring; however, Vision The Kid has easily broken some ground.  He comes into his own voice and sound with Lost Summer, establishing himself as an artist worthy of more than just local recognition.  As he continues to dominate the Minneapolis hip-hop scene, this album places Vision firmly on the map, even further and wider than his Midwest base.  The up-and-coming emcee might just be a force to be reckoned with.
