Original Warrant Vocalist Jani Lane Found Dead In Los Angeles Hotel

Lane’s body was discovered at the Comfort Inn hotel in Woodlands, California late Thursday night.

No official cause of death has been released at this time. He was 47.

Best known for late 1980’s smash hits like “Cherry Pie,” Lane fronted Warrant from 1986 until 2002, when he left the band to focus on his solo career. Lane and Warrant briefly reunited in 2008 for several shows before calling it quits.

Lane has since been involved in several side projects including Saints Of The Underground with members of Ratt and Alice Cooper, who he’s written songs for as well.

Beyond music, Lane had well documented issues with drugs and alcohol, which may have contributed to his sudden death.
