Keytar-wielding synth-pop sensation LIGHTS has announced a US tour with Owl City . The nationwide string of dates, which follow her first ever headlining US tour, kick off January 21st in Kansas City , MO and run through February 10th in Little Rock , AK . A special MySpace ticket presale will begin on Friday, October 16th, and general onsale will begin Saturday, October 24th.
LIGHTS debut full-length album The Listening is out now on Warner Bros Records. The 22-year-old Toronto singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist crafts her own brand of sparkling, otherworldly electro-pop that is, in her words “soft, but not pussy-soft, you know?” LIGHTS’ songs have already garnered over 17 million plays on MySpace, and on the strength of her self-titled EP alone, LIGHTS won the 2009 JUNO for New Artist of the Year.
MTV has also embraced LIGHTS. She is starring in Audio Quest: A Captain LIGHTS Adventure, a short-form motion comic series that features the art of comic book artists Tomm Coker and Daniel Freedman. Each Audio Quest episode, of which there will be ten in all, follows Captain LIGHTS as a super-hero on a galactic adventure to restore sound to the universe. The series premiered September 28, 2009 on-air during MTV’s AMTV and online at MTV.com. Audio Quest is a natural evolution for LIGHTS: a talented visual artist herself, she is no stranger to science fiction and the world of comics
