COWBOY DAN TO APPEAR ON DAYSTAR TV'S "CELEBRATION" Award-winning Children's Entertainer to Share Songs & Stories on May 18 Cowboy Dan
Nashville, TN (May 19, 2009) – Award-winning children’s entertainer and recording artist Cowboy Dan Harrell will be a guest on Daystar Television’s flagship show, “Celebration,” on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 12:00 noon ET.
Hosted by Daystar Television Network founders Marcus and Joni Lamb, the faith-based “Celebration” talk show is broadcast live around the world every weekday, presenting interviews with authors, business and church leaders, recording artists, television personalities and professional athletes, as well as performances from special musical guests.
Cowboy Dan hosts Daystar Television Network’s popular Saturday morning children’s show, “Cowboy Dan’s Frontier,” along with his trusty horse, Biscuit. His young fans have lots of fun while being taught about the importance of always learning something new every day on this family-oriented program aimed at parents and children ages 10 and under. Entertaining and meaningful songs punctuate Cowboy Dan’s points as he motivates adults and children to build strong relationships and communicate effectively with each other.
Born and raised in the ranch country of West Texas, Cowboy Dan is the real deal. After earning a degree in agriculture from Abilene Christian University, he lived in the Austin, Texas area, soaking up the Texas music scene. He later moved to Nashville, Tenn., to pursue a career in country music while working in the agricultural industry.
Along the way, his focus shifted to children’s music and entertainment. “Writing and performing children’s music was not something I planned on doing,” says Cowboy Dan. “It kinda pursued me. Now I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
Since 1996, Cowboy Dan has performed his high-energy live show for over 450,000 kids, parents and teachers. Along the way, his CD, Yee Haw Says It All, was named “Best Children’s Album” by the Nashville Music Awards, among other accolades.
Surviving loss, rebuilding life and moving ahead are all part of Cowboy Dan’s inspirational story. Tragedy struck the Harrell family in 2000 when Lyndee, his wife of 14 years, died suddenly from a heart attack, leaving him a single father of three girls and a nine-day-old baby boy. “Our whole lives changed in a single instant,” Cowboy Dan says, “and they will never be the same.” Through the help and prayers of his church family and friends, Cowboy Dan took time off from the road to raise his kids as he tried to find blessings amidst tragedy.
Now, his humor, music and message bring smiles to audiences of all ages. “I have found that a room full of bright young faces is one of the most rewarding opportunities an entertainer can have,” says Cowboy Dan.
