Paula Abdul, an Irreplaceable ‘American Idol’ judge?

Years ago in the 1980s, Paula Abdul was a cheerleader for Los Angeles Lakers, then she become an important choreographer for big music and movie stars like Janet Jackson. After that she wrote her name in the music video era of MTV 1980s and early-1990s, to become an important Pop-R&B singer of those times. But….. that’s not all

Paula Abdul has helped make “American Idol” the number one show in the U.S., with 20 million people tuning in each week. Abdul has been playing the character of the “nice and emotional” judge for “American Idol” but for How Long?

In a exclusive interview for “Nightline” Abdul said “This is my last season under contract.”  “I love the show, I do. I love what I do on the show and I’m loving it more this season than ever.”

Abdul said that despite recurrent rumors that she is being forced off the show by new, somewhat more discriminating judge Kara DioGuardi, it is not true.

“I don’t think anyone [can replace me],” Abdul told ABC. “I don’t think anyone [can]. First of all, Kara says ‘I could never replace you.’ And I said, whenever there is change it’s not about replacing anybody. It’s about possibly moving on.”

What do you think?
